My writing about mum

Writing
In High5 we have been practising writing to describe. That means we are trying to get the reader to see what we see, we are using our words to create a picture. We have been adding details to our writing to help make the picture clearer.

Task:
Our job is to do this planning and write our own story about a person in our family that is special to us.

Success Criteria:
  • I planned my writing
  • I added details (what I can seehow my person moveswhat I might hear from my person)
  • I did some fixing by myself
My writing:

Reflection

My favourite part was: thinking about mum.

It was really hard when: having lots of different stories.

Something that really helped me was: Tracey and my letter card.

Something new I learned was: listen to the sounds in my words.

Kerri Thinks
Wow Daniel! What a great story about your mum. Thank you for sharing her with us. I think your planning started with talking to Deb and Tracey and sharing your ideas and then you locked your story on your fingers.
You are working hard to hear the sounds in your words, find them on your sound card and write them down. Keep on using your stretchy cat arm and make sure you really stretch out those words so you can lots of sounds!
